For the first time in Armenia a Womens' Futsal Open Tournament will be. It will be in two age groups: U-15 and Premier League. "Urartu" will take part in both Competitions.

The draw of the tournament took place on January 15, during it all 23 teams have known their rivals.

Rivals of "Urartu-Girls-1" team in the Premier League, are: "Lokomotiv-Girls-1", "Alashkert-Girls", "Shirak-Omenmen" and "Ararat-Girls-1".

And the rivals of the "Urartu-Girls-2" women's team, which will play in the U-15 age group, are: "Nikarm-Ijevan", "Lokomotiv-girls-2" and "Nikarm-Aygehovit".

We talked with the coach of the “Urartu” womens' team - Gayane Avagyan.

ABOUT TOURNAMENT

“As we already know, the Open Women's Futsal Tournament will start soon. We will take part in it with two teams: under 15 and older than 15 years. The expectations and mood for the tournament are only victorious".

ABOUT RIVALS

“We are already familiar with the rivals somehow. We managed to compete with some in Group B of the Armenian Championship. We also have rivals from Group A of the Armenian Championship, which our elder team will meet.

I’ll also note that our veterans, who used to play football, are participating in the Premier League, so I and Knarik Grigoryan will also participate".

ABOUT EXPECTIONS AND AIMS

"The mission of the tournament is the development of women's football in Armenia and its further popularization.

Our goal is to win, we have a fighting spirit. The tournament will continue until March, and after it the second part of the Armenian Championship will begin".

 The tournament starts on January 19th. Group stage matches will be played at the Football Academy, and playoff matches will be held in Charentsavan.
