On February 8, within the framework of the current Cyprus training camp, Urartu FC will hold its first friendly fixture. The opponent is the representative of the Russian Premier League - "Ufa" FC. The match will be held at the stadium “AEK GSZ”, in the city  of "Larnaca", and  beginning at 19:00 Yerevan time.

HISTORICAL EXCURSION

The football club of the same name representing "Ufa" has an 11-year history. It was founded in 2009, during the merger of two amateur teams: Dynamo and Taxi Driver. Progressing and developing in the lower leagues, in 2014 "Ufa" FC finally moved to the Premier League and to this day plays in the Higher Division of the Championship of Russia. For “Ufa” FC the most successful was the 2017/18 season. Then the team took 6th place and for the first time in its history received a ticket to the Europa League. FC “Ufa” won in two qualifying rounds, but in the playoffs the club lost to the Scottish “Rangers” (1: 1; 0-1).

THE TEAM OF ZINCHENKO

It was from this club that the player of the national team of Ukraine, Alexander Zinchenko, moved to "Manchester City". At the age of 18, the Ukrainian was already a player of the main team of “Ufa” FC, and after two seasons played, he moved to the English grand, where he still plays today.

PRESENT PERFORMANCES

In the current season, “Ufa” FC, having earned 25 points, is located at 7th place in the Championship standings. In terms of performance, midfielder Daniil Fomin, who scored 3 goals and was first called up to the Russian national team, has the best indicator at the moment. Another 6 club players periodically receive invitations to the national team of their countries.

THE HEAD COACH

The club’s head coach is the famous football player, the six-time champion of Russia - Vadim Evseev. The last defender in the Russian national team played 20 matches and became the author of 1 goal. After the completion of his football career, Evseev immediately began to engage in coaching. Already managed to work in 5 clubs. A 44-year-old specialist has been heading  "Ufa" FC since March 27, 2019.
