Preparing for the new season, Urartu played the first friendly fixture at their own training ground. The opponent was the Van FC from Charentsavan.

 

NEW FACES IN THE STARTING LINE-UP 

It is no secret that a number of changes have taken place in the Urartu Football Club in comparison with the last season. Many players left the club, many of new ones came. It was in this match that Grigoryan provided playing time for both the newcomers of the team and the players on trial. The team's defensive line has almost completely changed. Since last season, Evgeny Osipov has remained in defense, Vitinho played on the right flank, Edgar Grigoryan, who returned from Noa FC, on the left, and Dmitry Guz in the center. Evgenii Kobzar acted at the forefront of the attack with Gevorg Tarakhchyan and Karen Melkonyan on the flanks.

The guests opened an account: 0-1. After the missed goal, the Urartu FC players organized a number of dangerous moments and after 9 minutes they scored a return goal. After a corner kick, Edgar Grigoryan, who after returning from Noah FC played his first match scored a goal. Nevertheless, the players of Van FC took the lead in the score before leaving for the break. Albert Mnatsakanyan scored with a long shot. The teams went on break with this score.

2 GOALS IN 4 MINUTES

It took 4 minutes for players of Urartu not only to equalize the score, but also to extend it. First, after a corner, Dmitry Guz scored a goal, and 2 minutes later, the players of Van FC broke the rules in their own penalty area. A penalty kick was awarded, which was unmistakably shot by Evgenii Kobzar: 3-2. The ending of the match also took place in a relentless struggle. Urartu FC could build on their success, and Van FC, in turn, could equalize the score, but no new goals were recorded. Urartu - Van 3-2.
