ALEKSANDR GRIGORYAN: "WE NEED TO IMPROVE OUR GAME"

23/01/2021

After the draw with Ararat FC (1-1), we talked with Urartu FC head coach Alexander Grigoryan:

ABOUT THE DRAW AGAINST ARARAT FC

“We played two matches with one day difference. Today we gave opportunity from the start those who, let's say, are currently included in the starting line-up. This could be changed during working process. Based on the first half, it can be analyzed that both we and the opponent were close to their starting line-ups, the game showed that we are now in the same condition both in terms of the quality of the game and the created moments. In the last minute of the first half, Jonel Desire had a real chance, but he missed. In general, it does not matter, we are in the same shape, and this suggests that we need to improve our performances, because we are not satisfied with it. I respect this team, they have an experienced coach and players with good quality, but I don't like the fact that we are on the same level with them. "

ABOUT GIVING OPPORTUNITY TO CLUB'S YOUNGSTERS

“We can't strictly rate our youngsters in these matches. I liked that several young players were able to prove themselves, and those who did not manage to do this, we will reassure, because they painfully perceive this fact. They want quality, but they have nowhere to rush. Our youngsters were divided into two groups: someone showed himself in these two matches, someone did not. They should not be upset, because they have never been under such loads, have not played with such rivals."

ABOUT FUNCIONAL SHAPE OF THE TEAM

“We always have to think about the teamwork, even taking into account the current weather conditions, but we are not alone in such conditions, several teams, in particular those that have not yet gone to training camps abroad, are also training now at -8, -9, therefore everyone is now on an equal situation. We do not have a question of functional training, in this component, everything is going according to plan. The issue is teamwork, but I can see progress. The only thing that worries me is that our main central midfielder has not joined the team yet."
