The Armenian national team held matches of FIFA World Cup-2022 qualifying round of the Group J. In the 7th round our national team played against the national team of Iceland. Our guys failed to win this match. Kamo Hovhannisyan opened the score in the 35th minute of the match, our players left for the break with a minimal advantage. However, in the second half, the hosts responded with a goal by Isaac Johansson.

After 3 days in Bucharest, Armenian national team faced Romanian national team and lost 1-0. The goal scored by Ionut Mitrica in the 26th minute of the match was victorious for the hosts.

The goalkeeper of Urartu FC Anatolii Aivazov was on the list in both matches, but did not enter the field.

After these two matches, our team is ranked 4th in Group J and has an equal number of points with the 3rd ranked North Macedonian team.

We'd like to add that our team will hold the next qualifying round matches on November 11 and 14, at home, respectively, facing the national teams of North Macedonia and Germany.
