In the 20th round of the VBET Armenian Premier League Urartu FC lost 1-0 to Alashkert FC. The only goal was scored by Wangu Gome.

After the victory over Ararat FC, Urartu faced a new challenge, this time - Alashkert FC. Abraham Khashmanyan's team in the previous match recorded a goalless draw with Shirak Gyumri, which is equal to defeat for this team.

Compared to the previous match, there was only one change in the starting line-up of Urartu, Oleg Poliakov entered the field instead of Vitinho. Although in the begining of the match, the Russian midfielder was injured, and Vitinho continued the game in his place.

Urartu started the match quite actively, already at the 13th minute Isah Aliyu had a very good chance to score a goal, the Nigerian midfielder freed himself from the control of the opponent's players and was in an advantageous position, but shot surprisingly weakly, and Alashkert goalkeeper easily catched the ball.

The first half was not rich in scoring chances. Urartu started the second half actively again. At the 51st minute, Ugochukwu Iwu shot from a long distance, but the ball flew with a slight deviation. Soon after that, Isah Aliyu could score from a free-kick, but this time Cancarevic saved his team from an inevitable goal.

The last part of the fixture was basically an equal fight. There were few scoring chances, but finally there was a one effective attack. The only dangerous moment of Alashkert in this match ended with a goal. In extra time, Wangu Gome scored.

After this fixture, Urartu has 24 points and continues to be in 5th place. The next match "Lions" will play against Pyunik FC. The match postponed from the 11th round will take place at Urartu stadium on April 19, kick-off at 18:00.
