The selection of young players started at the academy of Urartu FC on September 16. The coaching staff of the academy was the first to study the players born in 2013. The goal was to fill 3-4 teams of the academy born in 2013. These teams will soon take part in the Armenian youth championship.

The first selecion training was attended by 50 children born in 2013. The next selection  training session for the same age group will take place on September 20.

The head coach of the academy, Pablo García Cayarga, said: “We held our first selection training session to add new players to the academy. We studied the new players, looked at the players who train at the academy's paid teams. We now have more fields, which means we can have more teams and therefore more players. Selection work will continue in the near future, we are trying to give young players a lot of opportunities. The more players we study, the more likely we will have a foundation on which to build our future."

The acting director of the academy Artur Nazaretyan noted the following: “We started the selection process with the study of children in 2013, in the near future there will be trainings for children of other age categories. The purpose of this work is to familiarize with the teaching of children in a sports school, if there are advanced players, then they should join the academy teams, participate in youth championships. It is very important to ensure competition for further progress."
