IT WAS HONOUR FOR ME TO BE THE CAPTAIN OF THIS TEAM: THE FAREWELL LETTER OF BAREGHAMYAN

03/07/2020

As you know, Aram Bareghamyan, who played the most matches for Urartu Football Club, decided to end his career as a professional player and will soon begin coaching. Before saying goodbye to practical football, Bareghamyan delivered a farewell letter․

So this day has come ...

After more than 17 years of professional career, I decided to end my football career. Maybe for many of you this decision is unexpected, because until the last match I was a player of the main squad, I was competitive and still I am one. I am ending my career being competitive, because I think it’s more beautiful.

I want to thank all those people who supported me and became part of my football history. I would like to thank the owner of Urartu Football Club Jevan Cheloyants, the general director of the club Hrach Aghabekyan, the whole club staff.

Thanks to all the coaches I worked, who helped me become a player. I thank all the employees of our club, from the head of the team to the doctors, physiotherapist, administrators, workers responsible for the fields, cooks, cleaners, security guards, in a word, thanks to everyone.

Thanks to all my teammates, I wish them all the best in the future. It was an honor for me to be the captain of this team.

I am grateful to my family members for their patience over the years, thank you for enduring my football vagaries, for your support in every way.

Special thanks to the fans of our club, the guys from “South West Ultras” who have always been with us, both on good and bad days. Thank you. Together we have always been stronger.

As the saying goes, the end of one thing is the beginning of another. So in this case. This does not end my football path. A new chapter begins in my life.

From the side of the club’s leadership, I mean Jevan Cheloyants and Hrach Aghabekyan, as well as from the head coach, Aleksandr Grigoryan, I received an offer to join the team’s coaching staff as an assistant, which I accepted with pleasure and responsibility.

In fact, it was a difficult decision for me to end my career, but I understand that as a football player I can give very little to Armenian football, and as a coach I have a lot to do.

I am glad that I don't leave my football family, and I hope that I can be useful for my team with my experience and knowledge that I have yet to gain.

I repeat, a new stage begins in my life, and I am ready for this challenge.

ALWAYS FORWARD, URARTU.

Respectfully,

Aram Bareghamyan
