Pavel Stepanets was born on May 26, 1987 in the Ukrainian city of Gorodnya. He started playing football at the age of 11, attending the Republican Higher School of Physical Culture in Kiev. In 2003 he moved to Moscow, where he already started going to the CSKA sports school.
In the camp of the army team, Stepanets with the youth team becomes the champion of the country. And at the age of 16 the defender celebrates his debut in the main CSKA team.
In 2006 Pavel Stepanets moved to Spartak Nizhny Novgorod, and the next year he plays for Dynamo Kiev.
Then the player returns to Russia, playing first in Ural Yekaterinburg FC, and two years later in Mordovia Saransk FC, with which he won the FNL championship in the 2011/12 season, gaining 100 points, and entered the Russian Premier League. In subsequent years, Pavel Stepanets played in a number of Russian clubs, including Ufa, Fakel, Baltika, Tyumen and Luch Vladivostok.
In the 2019/20 season, the Ukrainian defender moves to the Armenian championship, playing for Ararat Yerevan. In the summer of 2020, Stepanets signs a contract with the Urartu Football Club.
Pavel Stepanets was called up to the Ukrainian U-14 and U-15 youth teams, the Ukrainian U-21 National team, and was also included in the extended list of the Ukrainian National team.
