Urartu Football Club is undergoing transformations that may affect the game of the team.

14/11/2019

Recently, in August 2019, FC Banants, with a change of ownership, also changed its name, now referred to as Urartu. We can assume that from that moment the club began a new era, which should lead to new trophies and titles.

The new owner of the club become Dzhevan Cheloiants, who has considerable experience in the football world. From 2004 until 2015, Cheloyanz was a member of the Board of Directors, and then a shareholder of FC Spartak Moscow. He was an important part of the club, participated in the signing of many players and represented the interests of Spartak at RPL meetings.

Having moved from the championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a football player of Serbian descent - Milos Nikolic, also replenished the composition of the Yerevan club this summer. The former defender of FC Zvezda 09 can significantly strengthen the defense of Urartu, because new acquisitions always bring new strength and emotions to the club’s game.

Despite the changes, the club’s head coach Ilshat Fayzullin continued his coaching activities at FC Urartu. According to the results of the 2018/19 season, the team led by Fayzullin was the third in the standings of the Armenian Championship, which gave the right to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League. This season, the team started not in the best way, but there are still many rounds ahead and the situation in the table can change dramatically.

FC Urartu already has the best training base in Armenia, all kinds of conditions for the development and improvement of the physical shape of the players. Perhaps very soon we will hear about the victories and achievements of Urartu not only in the national championships, but also in the European arena.
