27/11/2020

Earlier we reported that Nigerian attacking midfielder Isah Aliyu joined Urartu FC. The 21-year-old midfielder has experience playing in Armenia, he played 37 matches for Lori FC and scored 7 goals, and also played for the Spanish UD Almeria and for Saudi Arabian Al-Shoulla FC. In an interview with us, Aliyu told about the future goals and the impressions he received from the team:

ABOUT FIRST IMPRESSIONS

"Everything is good. Before joining Urartu FC, I knew about this team. My former teammates play here. They spoke about this club with such admiration that I wanted to join Urartu FC."

ABOUT PLAYING TIME WITH IWU, DESIRE AND MENSAH

“Before moving here, I especially talked a lot with Jonel Desire, and he really wanted me to move to Urartu FC. We played well together in Armenia, we have experience playing here. I remember well the match that took place at Urartu stadium, then the team was called Banants FC. If I’m not mistaken, we won 3-1, by the way, in that match I, Iwu and Desire scored goals, now we are all in Urartu FC, I hope that our cooperation will bring success to this club.”

ON THE TIME SPENT IN UD ALMERIA

“Moving to Spain after Armenia was a big step for me.  UD Almeria is really a big club. Spain is a powerful country in terms of football. True, I did not spend much time there, but I have accumulated a lot of experience, which, I hope, will help me a lot throughout my football career. After UD Almeria, I spent some time in Saudi Arabia. Everything was different there, including football culture.”

ABOUT GOALS

“I returned to Armenia to become a champion and develop as a player, to become better. We have a really competitive team that can compete for participation in UEFA Champions League tournament. I came to Urartu FC for this purpose. I hope it will work."
