ONE YEAR LATER. TRIBUTE TO SIMON ISRAYELYAN

10/10/2021

On September 29, 2020, Simon Israyelyan, a long-term employee of Urartu FC, left for the front. Communication with him was lost on October 10 of the same year, in the midst of the Second Artsakh War.

Exactly one year later, on this day, the players and staff of Urartu FC honored the memory of the hero of the 44-day war Simon Israyelyan, who was posthumously awarded the medal “For Courage” for his bravery shown during the hostilities.

In the morning, young players of our academy, headed by the acting director of the academy Artur Nazaretyan, as well as together with their coaches and parents, visited the Yerablur Pantheon and laid flowers at the grave of Simon, thereby paying tribute to the memory of the hero.

A little later, the players of Urartu-2 team, together with their coaching staff, attended the opening ceremony of a commemorative plaque placed on the facade of the house where Simon Israyelyan lived.

The players of Urartu FC main team, in turn, honored the memory of the hero on the territory of the club by laying flowers at his bust located directly at Urartu base.
