ALEKSANDR GRIGORYAN ABOUT DEFEAT FROM ALASHKERT FC

26/11/2020

After the defeat from Alashkert FC (1-2), the head coach of Urartu FC Aleksandr Grigoryan spoke about the match:

“In the first half, we deliberately gave space to the opponent, beacuse a lot of players from Alashkert joined the attacks, they actually left only two central defenders, we wanted to take advantage of this. I think the first half can be considered unsuccessful. Moreover, playing with three central defenders, we still conceded a goal from the flank, that is, the game plan in the first half did not work.

In the second half, we started to play with two central defenders and, probably, those players who entered the pitch brought aggression and changed the game. We had an advantage in the second half. If not the goal recorded by mistake of referee, we should have played in a draw. It is good that our players did not give up their enthusiasm after this fake goal, they continued to attack, still scored a goal in the end. But, unfortunately, it was not enough.

I can admit that in the aggregate of the first and second halves, Alashkert was subjectively better. But the word "better" is inappropriate here, you have to look at the number of dangerous moments that the teams have created, I think there is some equality here.

I am more outraged by the second goal scored into our goal, but the fact is that every round I see such huge mistakes in the matches of other teams as well. Here it is a systemic error, and it is connected with a lack of qualification or with malicious intent, only God knows. "
