URARTU FC LOST TO NK MARIBOR WITH A MINIMUM SCORE

Urartu FC started their performances in the UEFA Europa Conference League, the team faced away the Slovenian NK Maribor. The match ended with the home team winning 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Nino Žugelj.

 

FOREWORD

After a two-year break, Urartu FC returned to the European arena. The team made their debut in a newly created tournament called the UEFA Europa Conference League. The first match against Slovenian NK Maribor took place on the opponent's field.

NAREK AGHASARYAN IN THE STARTING LINE-UP

The coaching staff of Urartu FC made a rather bold decision for this game. Young midfielder Narek Aghasaryan was included in the starting line-up, by the way, this match became his first official match in the Urartu FC line-up. Another newcomer to the team, Nana Antwi, was also in the starting line-up.

UNREALIZED MOMENTS OF MIRANYAN AND MELKONYAN

The hosts started the match quite actively, but the Urartu FC players resisted with dignity. The work of the defenders was quite intense, but in the first half the players of Urartu FC did not make any mistakes in defense. In the first half, Urartu FC managed to create 1-2 scoring chances. Karen Melkonyan and Artur Miranyan were in the shock positions, but both missed.

HOSTS WENT FORWARD IN THE ACCOUNT

11 minutes after the start of the second half, the players of NK Maribor opened the score. Bursting into the penalty area from the left flank, the hosts were able to effectively complete the attack. Nino Žugelj scored a goal: 1-0. This goal was the only one in this match. In the second half, the  players of Urartu FC had few opportunities to score a goal, but they did not allow the opponent to build on their success. Maribor - Urartu 1-0.

On July 15, Urartu FC will host NK Maribor at home. The team has a chance to reach to the next round, which means we must fight to the end.
