Urartu FC defender, team captain Hakob Hakobyan leaves the club. The contract term of the 25-year-old football player has expired and the parties, by mutual agreement, decided not to renew it.

Recall that Hakobyan is a graduate of Urartu FC academy, for many years he defended the colors and honor of his native Urartu FC, in recent years, being the team leader, he acted as captain.

Before leaving, Hakobyan addressed all Urartu FC fans:

“16 years ago, I took my first football steps here, in Urartu FC. During these years, I have been brought up and trained both as a football player and as a person, for which I am very grateful to the club. In 2014, one of my childhood wishes came true: I was invited to the first team for the first time. I remember my first match very well, we played against FC Ararat and won 2-1, I got playing time in the last minutes of the match, it was an indescribable emotion. That year we became the champions of Armenia. In 2016 there was another memorable season, we won the Armenian Cup. At that time, I was already entrenched in the main team. Of course, I can't help mentioning the last years, when I was acting as a team captain with great joy, pride and responsibility. But this is a sport, and you have to be ready for any developments and always look and move forward.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone: the management with whom I have worked throughout all these years, all the coaches who gave me a lot and did everything for me to develop and improve my qualities, all the staff of the club, all those with whom I was lucky work in this club.

I would like to thank all the staff of the main team: the team manager, all the medical staff. Special thanks to the indispensable Harut, all my teammates and friends, who have become one of my biggest achievements during these years.

Of course, many thanks to all the fans for always being with the team, for their endless support.
